{"id":78664,"date":"2021-05-25T15:32:44","date_gmt":"2021-05-25T22:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.allclassical.org\/?post_type=ac_spotlights&#038;p=78664"},"modified":"2021-05-25T15:47:29","modified_gmt":"2021-05-25T22:47:29","slug":"oregon-artswatch-highlights-ican-rii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.allclassical.org\/oregon-artswatch-highlights-ican-rii\/","title":{"rendered":"Oregon ArtsWatch Highlights ICAN &#038; RII"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are delighted to share that All Classical Portland&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/icanradio.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Children&#8217;s Arts Network (ICAN)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/recordinginclusivity.allclassical.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Recording Inclusivity Initiative <\/a>(RII) have been featured in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orartswatch.org\/radio-rejuvenation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an article<\/a> by Oregon ArtsWatch.<\/p>\n<p>In the article &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.orartswatch.org\/radio-rejuvenation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Radio Rejuvenation<\/a>,&#8221; Brett Campbell highlights All Classical Portland&#8217;s programs and initiatives that strive to bring classical music to a wider, more diverse audience.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ICAN<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u201cI think All Classical Portland has seized the opportunity to influence the future,\u201d shared All Classical Portland&#8217;s President &amp; CEO Suzanne Nance. \u201cWe want to make sure children feel like they have a home in classical music, a place in the concert hall. All our initiatives are aimed at amplifying young voices and encouraging them to tell stories of their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>RII<\/strong><br \/>\nAll Classical Portland&#8217;s newest initiative seeks to address the gap of classical music composers and musicians from underrepresented communities that make it into the concert hall and onto the airwaves: &#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/recordinginclusivity.allclassical.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Recording Inclusivity Initiative<\/a> will elevate and amplify underrepresented composers and their music through the new recordings we produce and distribute together. We hope that the work we do through RII has a ripple effect that inspires others to act,\u201d states Suzanne Nance.<\/p>\n<p>RII recordings begin this week at <a href=\"https:\/\/bodeckerfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NM Bodecker Foundation&#8217;s<\/a> Halfling Studio.
